While the GDPR has long since been adopted in the EU states and is now also arriving in Switzerland, the UK, which left the EU on 1 February 2020, has announced that it will now pursue its own data protection policy. Nevertheless, London also underlined that it would continue to apply “high standards” in the question of data protection.

In addition to data protection, users of digital services expect an increasingly consistent real-time user experience across all their devices, interaction points (online & offline) and interactions (advertising, purchasing, after-sales, etc.).

Seemingly contradictory, both issues – data protection and consistent user experience – are nevertheless inseparable. After ITP from Safari, ETP from Firefox, there is now an update from Google Chrome to block 3rd party tracking: small changes, with major implications for your data strategies. Let’s have a quick look into the future to understand the threats and opportunities and see how you can make sure you will still be able to communicate in a 1-to-1 perspective with your customers over the next 2-5 years.
